On Thursday Sept. 26th,  staff and students at Northlake Woods participated in the annual Terry Fox Marathon of Hope.  Students gathered in the gym to watch a short video about some of the history surrounding this event and about the life and the accomplishments of a heroic Canadian, Terry Fox.   Following the warm-up, at the end of the assembly, classes participated in one of two circuits set up for the day.   Everyone was encouraged to bring a toonie for Terry and to think about the role they can play in helping to achieve the goal of supporting research for finding a cure for cancer.    We surpassed last year’s donations with a total donation this year of $588 dollars.   Congratulations to the organizing teachers of this event and to all of our students who have worked to make sure that the sadness of Terry’s story is not where the story ends.
