As a school, Northlake Woods has been working with Free the Children for many years. Founded by Craig and Marc Kielburger, Free the Children is an organization of children helping children through education. In the past, Northlake Woods students have raised money to build a school in Kenya, put together 1,000 health and school kits, and supported alternative income programs by providing animals and sewing machines to children and families in need. Last year, the students, staff, and community of Northlake Woods Public School worked with Free the Children to fundraise for clean water projects in developing countries.
Mme G. recently received a thank you letter from Free the Children, letting us know what our donations were used for. Click here to see an excerpt from the letter. Included in the letter was a link to the following message created specifically for our students. View Message.
This year our Free the Children fundraising campaign will continue to support clean water projects. Stay tuned for information on our We Scare Hunger food drive in October, and our penny drive and Water Rafiki Friend Chain sale in December.
