Students at NLW are taking time in every classroom this week to talk about bully like behaviour and the impact it can have on everyone invovled in a conflict. The focus for the week is on the role that each person plays in a conflict situation, from the bully to the victim and the bystander. Students are also being introdcued to the concept of an “Upstander” who speaks up on behalf of a victim and works to stop the bully like behaviour. The goal in all conflict is for each person to take ownership for the opportunity they may have at addressing or resolving the problems. It is valuable and beginning conversations about a very complex concept. We will end our week with an assembly that will focus on the ‘O’ in HOWL of our Timberwolves character attributes – OWNERSHIP.
