Today the grade 5 students in room 21 explored the relationship between tenths and hundredths using base ten blocks. They were able to prove 2.27 is smaller than 2.3.
The grade 4’s played a place value game where strategies like ‘guess and check’ and ‘making a table’ were used. The game also allowed them to practice saying decimal numbers to tenths.
To engage in these activities, students need to demonstrate an understanding of decimal place value. Learning is happening here!
