Last Thursday, the NLW Library was abuzz with the sounds of friends sharing good books and participating in fun literacy activities at our first Family Reading Night. In addition to students reading their favourite stories with family and friends, the evening included hot chocolate & cookies; a book trading table; guest readers (Thank you, Firefighter Norm & Librarian Sheila!); as well as crafts and activities. The evening ended with a lucky draw and Reader’s Theatre demonstration. Thank you to everyone who came out to participate, it was a delightful evening!
A special thank you to Jane & Laurie from KW Little Libraries (https://llkw.ca/), and Sheila from WPL (http://www.wpl.ca/) for sharing more fun ways to engage in literacy/ reading within our community!
