It’s that time of year again for the Northlake Woods P.S. Thanksgiving Food Drive and Turkey Shoot.  Help support The Food Bank of Waterloo Region by bringing in non-perishable food items from October 6 to October 10, 2014.   The most needed items at this time are cold cereal, beans in sauce, canned fish or meat, canned fruit and canned pasta.  For every food item brought in, students will receive 1 ticket, which equals 3 basketball shots in our Turkey Shoot in the gym during the second half of second break (1:30p.m. to 1:50p.m.) October 6-10.  For every shot that goes in students will receive an additional ticket to enter into the draw to win a turkey for Thanksgiving!

In addition to this we are also part of The Kitchener Rangers Fall Classroom Food Drive Challenge.  The elementary school that raises the most pounds of food per student will be invited to select a class to win a free pizza lunch with Rangers players at The Food Bank on November 12.  This class will also receive a tour of The Food Bank and participate in activities related to food assistance in our community.
