Photography Workshop Room 23

On April 24 our class had a field trip with Mrs.McCabe. The field trip was called ‘Focus On Nature’ where we learned about the elements of design (color, space, form, texture, line, value & shape). First we watched a short presentation on the elements of design and learned about each and every one and how they are shown in a piece of art (photograph, painting, sculpture etc). Then after the presentation we all got our own camaras and got to go outside and find different pieces of nature to take a picture of. After that we split off into 3 groups. Group 1 made nature sculptures out of anything that they could find while group 2 did a nature scavenger hunt to try and find all of the things on the lists given to them and group 3 picked their favourite 7 pictures out of all the pictures they took and got to edit them to make them look very cool. Then the groups switched so that each group could do each activity. Finally, at the very end of the day every person got to show their pictures that they edited to see what other people had done. The field trip was so much fun! We learned so much in such a fun way and I’m sure everyone else had as much fun as I did!
